Landscape Artist, from St Ives, Cornwall
Bridget’s recent paintings are essentially landscapes, but the images are drawn from memories of walks and journeys, and imagination. This allows her to focus on and enjoy materials with more freedom, letting paint, media and surface lead the process, creating richly textural surfaces. She is looking to create a sense of ambiguity, movement, contrast and drama in the paintings. Figurative elements are taken from old family photographs and formal portraits.
